Tire levers with a stainless steel core – Another unique new IBOMBO product as standard

As we develop the standard equipment for IBOMBO bicycle repair stations, we design tools with years of use in public spaces in mind. Each component must meet the same requirements: durability, resistance, and predictable performance for years to come.

That’s why we’re introducing tire levers with an AISI 420 stainless steel core, coated with nylon, as standard equipment at IBOMBO stations. Nylon provides high abrasion resistance, stable parameters over a wide temperature range, and a low coefficient of friction – crucial when working with rims and tires. Unlike many typical plastics, it doesn’t become brittle under UV radiation, remains flexible in the cold, and doesn’t soften excessively with intensive use. This effectively protects rims from scratches.

The design combines the advantages of both materials: nylon provides contact and protection, while the steel core transfers forces and provides bending resistance. This eliminates the typical drawbacks of levers made entirely of plastic, combining safety for bicycle components with tool durability.

Why is this important? Replacing an inner tube or tire is one of the most common activities performed at public bicycle repair stations – it involves heavy loads, variable temperatures, varying levels of user experience, and constant exposure to outdoor conditions.

The new tire levers are another element of the unified IBOMBO tool standard, which includes stainless steel screwdrivers with integrated swivels and a 2-in-1 TORX/HEX multitool (GLOBAL PAT. PENDING). The IBOMBO AISIPRO HEAD™ is also available as an option – a pump head adapter made of AISI 630 stainless steel, protected by an industrial design (EUIPO).
